Abstract

Mobile robot has a vase application, such as industrial automated equipment carries, automated cars, and other. All the application is using line following sensor as an "eye" to search the line. Bur most of the participant from Robocon are made their own sensor for the mobile robot because affordable and cheap compare to colour sensor. This project is needed to build a high speed mobile robot that can trace the yellow line and run with smoothly. In order to build the high speed mobile robot, some components are needed such as sensor, microcontroller and motor actuator. The sensor is made by 8 sets of LED as emitter light and LDR as receiver and build in low cost. Sensor is able to send the output to Mbed microcontroller. Mbed microcontroller is the one to receive 8 signals from each cells sensor and use as input data. All the input data will use for calculation that write in form of C program on the Mbed compiler. Mbed microcontroller will send P WM output to adjusting the speed of the motor. As a result, all the objectives are achieved. The mobile robot is able to run high speed in straight line, big curve and small curve too. Sensor is able to differential the colour and trace the yellow and build by cheap components.
