Abstract

This project is to design and implement a home security robot that able to detect any incident that is related with the occurrence of fire in a building. So, the intelligence and sensitivity of the system is the major concern. The home security robot consists of five parts which are the main board, wireless communication system, robot positioning system, fire detecting system and fire alert system. For the wireless communication system, all the data able to be transmitted and received wirelessly between home security robot and end-point device. While for the robot positioning system, the home security robot is able to move in constant speed within a fixed pathway. For the fire detecting system, the home security robot will detect any unwanted presence of fire in the house. Whereas for the fire alert system, the home security robot will notify the occupants in a house to evacuate from the fire emergency. Every parts of the system are all connected to the Arduino main board. Besides that, a system interface is created to make the system more user friendly. Basically, the home security robot will move around the house to detect any unwanted presence of fire by monitoring environmental changes. If the system detected fire, the fire alarm will be activated to notify all the occupants in a house to evacuate in the event of fire emergency. Furthermore, this system also intended to send an emergency message to the users informing them about the fire incident.
