Abstract

The background of this research is to study the performance of intelligent buildings. The research aim is to study the concepts of intelligent buildings and the effectiveness of its performance in Malaysia. The main concept of intelligent building is to control and use the building with technology systems to improve its efficiency and comfortable to the building users. The primary data source is questionnaires. Questionnaires will be distributed to collect the opinions of people on the performances of intelligent building. The secondary data source is books and lecture notes, to study the background, concept, principle, characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of intelligent buildings. The possible findings or contributions to knowledge are I can learn more the knowledge and details of the design of intelligent buildings after conducting research on it. I have learnt the basic of this knowledge through previous subjects such as Building Services and Advance Building Technology and Practices. I also can find out and analyse how well the performance of intelligent buildings in Malaysia.
