Abstract

The final year project is to design and fabricate a tricycle that can either operate in pedal system or electric system. Throughout the project, discussions are required by author and his project in order to find out more ideas or concept for the project. Besides author is also needed to have the meeting with his supervisor so that the project can carry out smoothly. The first step is needed by project team was to develop a timeline for the project, hence organizing and managing the phases of the timeline. Moving on, the project partner was responsible for the designing works. After the design complete, author is required to choose most suitable materials for the components. This is to ensure the prototype done can be more quality. In fabrication, project partner was responsible for first four processes that are body frame, front suspension, rear suspension and steering. Author will in charge for the remaining processes that are brake system, seating, electric system, wiring installation. After the prototype is done, the testing and inspection works were carried by author to ensure the prototype is in good condition and find out is it any defeats. Some of the issues that are the strength of the body frame are needed take note by author. The body frame should be very stronger to ensure that the prototype can operate in all conditions. From this project, the author was able to gain greater knowledge and experience such as welding, installing the brake cable and wiring, the skill to mill the steel.
