Abstract
The title of this project is Design and fabrication of a folder stair climbing hand cart using ISO 9000 QMS design methodology (Lifting Features and Safety Factors). It aims to fabricate a hand cart that able to lift load up and down on its platform and able to pull the hand cart up the stairs easily. Approach methodology use in this project to design and fabricate the prototype is using ISO 9000 QMS Design Methodology. ISO 9000 QMS Design Methodology contains few stages, including design input stage, design stage, design review stage, design output stage, design verification stage, design validating stage and design changes stage. This content of this dissertation is arranged under main headings and the chapter contents are listed in detail. Each chapter is dealt with the detail and in a step by step manner of how the author finishes the project. It starts with a brief introduction of the project, then reviewing the components and compares the design of market-available hand cart in the Chapter 2. The ISO 9000 QMS Design Methodology will be review in details in Chapter 3. Chapter 4 is covering the design analysis of the prototype using Solidworks. Chapter 5 and 6 is the detailed fabrication process and testing result. Lastly is the conclusion and recommendation to make this prototype better. The prototype is able to perform well and quietly on flat surface and staircase of 21 Omm height and 525mm width with a load of 27kg on the hand cart's platform. The prototype is also able to lift the load vertically from ground surface to use to unload and load from or onto transportation such as truck of a van and truck of small lorry. This prototype generally meet the objective of the project, which is design and fabricate a hand cart with load and unload lifting feature and stair climbing wheels features. This prototype cans benefits peoples with smaller strength to carry the weight up the staircase and places where escalator and elevator are absent.
