Abstract
In this modern and digital era, time is a crucial and important issue that everyone concern about. This paper proposes an intelligent bus scheduling service mobile app with GPS tracking system to help the passengers to manage their time well. The system can be separated into three sections. The first section is the automatic passenger counting system that able to read the number of passenger on the bus and update the real time number to the Firebase. The second part is the mobile app for driver and user that integrate with the Firebase. The function of driver’s app is to read the location of the bus using the GPS plugin which is built in the mobile and compute the distance and estimated duration for the bus to reach its destination. After the computation, the app will upload all these information to the Firebase. The user’s app will then download all the computed data from the Firebase and show the real time location of the bus on a Google map, the number of passenger on the bus, the computed distance and the estimated duration for the bus to arrive. Besides that, the user can request for a seat on a bus using the user’s app. As for the last part, a scheduling system is developed using fuzzy logic, to compute the most optimal schedule where the available buses able to pick up all the passengers at the bus stop.
