Abstract

The project is known as “Android Application using Face Detector as Remote Control for Auto Gate System”. The idea of the project is come from own experience in hometown which is village area. This project is to solve the problem of security on the landed houses by providing low cost solution. To solve the security problem of the existing auto gate system, a detail study is required to determine the appropriate wireless system to be implementing into the auto gate system. The study of wireless systems is including Bluetooth, WIFI, NFC and RFID. As the result of study, the Bluetooth is most suitable to be used so the future development is based on Bluetooth technology. An Arduino program has develop to interact with Android application by the Bluetooth module HC-05 using UART serial communication. An Android application is develop to use as remote control to control the operation of door. To increase the security of the system, face detector technology is implementing on the Smart phone device to protect the device from unauthorized user. The objective of the project had achieved such as study of wireless system, develop of wireless auto gate system, develop of Android application and improve the security of the auto gate system. The challenge of the project is the low matching rate of the face detector feature in practical and this is also the limitation of the face detection technology. To future study and research on this title, it can discover the new security technology such as fingerprint and iris reorganization. Inside the dissertation, it not only contains the process of develop Arduino program and Android application, it also show the simulation, testing and debugging of the project. Besides that, the prototype of auto gate system is built to demonstrate the system.
