Abstract

This research has been conducted to find out the impact of foreign labour towards Malaysian construction industry. It is important to know the latest trends of foreign labour so that contractors and Government can take actions on them. It is also intended to study the relationship between economy and foreign labour in order to identify their significant. To determine the criteria of foreign labour which is the preference for contractor to be employed. The significant of foreign labour who contributing their labour force to Malaysian construction industry. Some policies are to be applied into this industry to control the number of foreign labour. Indonesian and Bangladeshi foreign labour are popular in Malaysian construction industry here majority of them are employed by contractor into construction site. They are willing to work in 3D working environment, they are lower wages compared to locals and easy application process for employing foreign labour encouraging contractor to employ foreign labour into construction site. Government imposes policies into Malaysian construction industry to control the number of foreign labour.
