Abstract
The aim of this study is to ascertain the adoption of Earned Value Analysis as a tool to monitoring construction project performance by local contractor. Adding that, the objectives of this research are to explore the concept and function of EVA, investigate the factors affect the effectiveness of EVA in local construction industry, explore the benefits EVA as a project monitoring tool technique by local contractor and to explore the constraints or limitations of EVA. The primary data of the research carried out by the questionnaire survey to achieve the aim and objectives of the study. Before the analysis is being carried out, the literature review is being studied out to gain the knowledge of EVA approach as construction project performance monitoring system. Secondary data of the study is being studied by the literature review. The design of the questionnaire is being designed to collect the data regarding to the aim and objectives of this study. The questionnaire will find out the data related to adoption of EVA by local contractors. Besides that, the questionnaire also set to investigate the factors affect the result of EVA, the benefits and constraint of the implementation of EVA by local contractors. All the data collected by the questionnaire is being analysed by the frequency distribution, measurement of central tendency and scoring method. All the results will be summarised in table form and presented in the form of bar char and pie chart in order to provide a clearly visualisation and easy understanding on the result.
