Abstract
The aim of this research is to study the safety measures on construction industries during the construction period. In order to achieve the aim, three objectives have been set which are to study the safety management on the construction, to study the hazards on construction site and to study the act and regulation of safety for construction industry in Malaysia. First of all, this research has implemented by sent out 100 set of questionnaires to contractors, interviewed 3 interviewees Safety and Health Officer are experienced in the construction industry with the health and safety knowledge and analyse 3 accidents were happened in construction industry. Triangular study had been used to implement the above three methods. From the results, health and safety policy is very important to prevent the accident and fatalities rate in the industry. Besides that, the policy issued by the management must comply with statutory requirement. Furthermore, the policy is a guideline or manual to assist the site personnel to carry out their jobs or roles. In order to implement the policy well, the management team is very important to carry out the policy. From the results obtained, the most important person to implement the policy is project manager. It is because he is the key person in the construction site. As a conclusion, the health and safety policy is very important to safety management. Besides that, the policy must comply with statutory requirement and implement by the project team. However, in the research the conflict has occurred on the most important personnel in construction industry. Therefore, the future study is to find out the important personnel on construction industry due to conflict occurred.
