Abstract

The research aim in this project dissertation is to identify the utilization of Building Automation System (BAS) for energy efficiency in high-rise commercial building all the ways through the four research objectives. The overall research is proven the hypothesis determined earlier of the project dissertation which is the implementation of BAS in high- rise commercial building is having better energy efficiency compared with non BAS building by carry out the literature research, interviews and case studies. The study of the strategies and elements integration with BAS in high-rise commercial buildings in order to generally understand the BAS function and application performance to optimize the energy consumption provide to the building user and occupants. Besides, the benefits of utilization the BAS in high-rise commercial building will be discussing in the research to show the worth value of implementing it and advantages to building user and occupants. In meanwhile, the limitation of BAS will be pointed out to identify the drawback of implementation of BAS and what kind of improvement shall be fulfilled in future. As well as the last objective which is to compare the BAS high-rise commercial building with non BAS building would be carried out through the case studies and interview approaches with relevant person. The comparison on the BAS utilized and energy consumption which is the lower to proof the hypothesis is true. Whereas, the benefits and limitations in the field study is slightly different with literature review that mostly based on the personal work experiences and own opinions.
