Abstract

The purpose of this project is to design a computer based real time combo effects guitar device. This device is specially design for guitar players and especially for beginners. A single analogue guitar pedal can be costly. Therefore, this project will be a low cost guitar device that includes few famous effects for guitar players. The guitar effects are mainly design with MATLAB Simulink. The Simulink blocks are then link to a user friendly GUI to allow the users for fully control on the guitar device adjustments. This guitar device also allows users to combine any three effects in three different categories. All the results of the sound effects that simulated through Simulink block have the similar sound effects that produced by the analogue guitar pedal and there are nearly zero delay produced by the Simulink. This can prove that digital signal processing able to create and transform a costly guitar pedal into a digital format and its budget free. With the knowledge of digital signal processing, the user can implement and customize the any new effect in the future as well.
