Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between self-presentation and social anxiety on Facebook, exploring how Facebook users manage their online identities, it is the act of creating and maintaining an ideal identity in a social situation, at the same time, social comparison had involves when they are presenting their ideal identities, it is the core of causing social anxiety among the users. Depressed and anxiety feelings and lots of time on Facebook and comparing oneself to others tend to go hand in hand. About 250 respondents had participated in the survey questionnaire, quantitative data analysis suggest s that most participants are presenting their ideal identities, and they are affected by social anxiety due to social comparison on Facebook.
