Abstract

Nowadays Building Information Modelling had been widely used in many construction project. However, there is still some difficulties which BIM could not solve. For example information of road and tunnel systems, traffic data, water piping and supplying systems, population data, downpipe system, fiber wiring, water rectification system and detailed geographical information. This data is actually important for a construction projects, especially in urban city area, there are more difficulties to manage or detect it well, but it is unobtainable by Building Information Modeling (BIM) system. Therefore, this dissertation aim to promote the incorporation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Geographical Information System (GIS) in managing construction project so that all aspects of construction project lifecycle could be improved. With three objective of determine the advantages and disadvantages of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Geographical Information System (GIS), to determine how Building Information Modeling (BIM) incorporate with Geographical Information System (GIS) and to promote the incorporation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Geographical Information System (GIS) in managing construction project. Furthermore, a quantitative method questionnaires is used to collect the data from the G7 contractor in order to analyses the challenge and the view of respondent. Eventually the aim could be achieved after the data analysis and conclusion.
