Abstract
In these recent years, people are trying to adopt computer software in the construction industry as they may encounter a lot of problems and inconvenience caused by hand progress in the past thirty years. These results in the works are not efficiently done. In addition, computer are keep on developing and enhancing its functions and ability to do and solve more complicated things and receive more complex commands such as planning and scheduling. Besides that, the price of a personal computer price was dropped and it reaches a more affordable price range for people and companies to adopt from its initial launching price and therefore it becomes more and more common. From this study, we will look into how the size of contractor firms (medium-size and large-size) will effects the applications of computer software in Malaysia. At the same time, we also looking into the benefits and the difficulties faced in adopting computer software. Furthermore, 120 sets of questionnaire has been prepared for obtaining the data and the target group of respondents are the people that are currently working in contractor firms or people that worked in contractor firms before. After the data is collected, it would be analyzed by using the frequency distribution method, multiple response analyze method and independent samples t-test method. In conclusion, this study can helps people to understand the types of computer software which currently used by the industry, the benefits of using computer software and also the difficulties that needs to beware.
