To this end, development of green home can reduce the negative impact cause by the building construction. Nevertheless, a considerable gap is found where demand of green home is not appropriately linked to the homebuyers’ preferences. Specifically research of Nazirah Zainul Abidin (2010) enlighten that there is a need to study on how to increase the demand of homebuyers in relation to green home. Understanding the demand of homebuyers in buying green home is vital to encourage the developer to improve their building projects with the adoption of green building features. Hence, this research aims to trigger homebuyers’ demand in buying green home. By using questionnaire, a total of 171 data are collected from homebuyers located in Kuala Lumpur via Google Form. The data are analysed through Statistical Packages for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The findings reveal that the homebuyers’ preferences mainly including both Green Criteria and Additional Criteria. The data analysis result validate that safety and privacy, cost and value of property, aesthetic of housing, efficiency appliances to reduce energy for ventilation, and open green space nearby are the items which the homebuyers considered as important while buying a green home. From the perspective of academic, this research extended the study of Nazirah Zainul Abidin (2010) by providing empirical evidence on the homebuyers’ preferences in buying green home. Ultimately, the findings serve as a valuable reference for assisting the developer in the development of green home project in relation to the preferences of homebuyers in buying green home.
