Abstract
This project is developing a system called Bulletin Board System, which is a mobile application (Android) for Tunku Abdul Rahman University College’s students use. The main purpose of this project is to develop a Bulletin Board System on a mobile application (Android). This proposed project is to convert a web base Bulletin Board (Intranet) into a mobile application since the students are required to access to the Intranet by using web browser which is inconvenient and consume a lot of time. The proposed project is to solve this current problem by allowing TARUC’s student direct access to the Bulletin Board through their smartphone. The background of this proposed project is based on Bulletin Board System which allow students to read their announcement through smartphone. To develop this project, it requires database to store all the data transaction and a broker to establish connection between system and database. There are several functions of the system which are Login, Sorting, Filtering, Bookmark, Notification, and View information. The methodology used for this project is Scrum methodology because is easier for the team to discuss idea and add few Sprints to make improvement to the system if needed. The system use 000webhost as database to store data and MQ Telemetry Transport (MQTT) as a broker between the system and database. Unit testing and User Acceptance testing are used to test the system because unit testing for testing the individual module and once every module can function properly then only integrate together and allow tester to do user acceptance testing. The system can provide Login, Sorting, Filtering, Bookmark, Notification, and View information functions. The weakness of this system is lack of features compare to the current web based Bulletin Board System. There will be more improvement to the system by implement more function and feature.
