Abstract

This research project is to develop a monitoring process of cabbage production with the digital image processing. The reason to do this project due to cabbage production met manpower shortage for monitoring the growth stage of cabbage and this project used to identify cabbage growth stage, soil type and soil condition based on MATLAB/Simulink® program. Then the literature review in this project has granted the information and existing digital image processing techniques as the experience to develop the project as well. There are much more techniques can be applied in developing this project, but the simplicity of the program needs to be preserved so there were some techniques applied in this project only. Besides, this project consisted of 2 programs which has been combined into 1 program and work with GUI. There is a condition to prevent the effect of various sunlight exposure towards the program outcome and the coding had been attached in the chapter 3 to explain the program more details. After the program had produced the results, all of it was recorded and organised neatly to illustrate every growth stage of cabbage farm, soil type and soil condition. Last but not least, this project was concluded to express the impression after completing the project, and the project has met limitations and several future improvements are demanded to solve issues of the program.
