Abstract
Although the number of blind person are in the minority, they are not to be ignore. While the current surgery fee to treat vision impairment remains to be expensive for most of the blind to afford, they use blind sticks to navigate them around. However, the current conventional blind stick does not offer too much in term of navigation and it has its limitations when sending feedback. The disadvantages of using a traditional blind sticks such as not being able to detect obstacles beyond its length, not being able to send feedback aside from the vibration from tapping on the obstacle, not being able to detect water puddles would be solved with this project. Moreover, majority of blind people are also elders, so the well being of them is a concern. The project aims to allow the blind to have a firm grasp of their surroundings, making them navigate around with more confidence.
