Abstract

Conducting polymer hydrogel is namely hybrid network which made of cross-linked hydrogels impart with conductive polymer. In present project, PAM/Pani conducting polymer hydrogel was fabricated using unique interfacial method. Polyacrylamide (PAM) was made by free-radical cross-linking followed by polymerization of polyaniline (Pani) synthesis using chemical method. A conducting polymer hydrogel which composed of PAM and Pani was then completely synthesized by immersing of preformed PAM into Pani aqueous solution. Conducting polymer, Pani was formed within PAM matrix by interface assembles and thus resulting PAM/Pani conducting polymer hydrogel that exhibits conductive properties, enhanced mechanical and physical properties. The potential application of PAM/Pani conducting polymer hydrogel is on electronic devices, wastewater management, and biomedical field such as implantable biosensors and bio-detection devices.
