Abstract

This research investigates on the personal factors and social environmental factors that influence the fruits and vegetables intake among students from Tunku Abdul Rahman University College Perak Branch. Past research done in the area of fruits and vegetables intake among adolescents and children and indicated that preference, nutritional knowledge, social influence and availability have a significant relationship with fruits and vegetables intake. This research design implements a quantitative method in order to test the relationship with the factors that have been stated by previous researches towards fruits and vegetables intake. The research subject consists of a population of 1500 student of Tunku Abdul Rahman University College Perak Branch. 400 questionnaires have been distributed resulting 11 spoiled questionnaire and 389 completed questionnaire are analysed using Statistical Package for Social Science version 16. The data was equally distributed according to normality test, demographic profile is obtain using descriptive statistics analysis, Pearson correlation analysis shows that all constructs have a correlation with fruits and vegetables intake. This research could help retailers and vendors who sell fruits and vegetables to sustain the business and to know which factor to focus on.
