Abstract

For the past decades, wireless power transfer (WPT) technology was obtaining widespread attention due to the rapid development in telecommunication and electronic gadgets such as smartwatch, smartphones and the introduction of 5G. Therefore, the development of WPT technology has the potential to offer wireless power charging capability on these electronic devices. Moreover, the recent development of WPT technology also includes wireless power charging on the electric car due to increasing environmental awareness. Thus, the main research study of this report focuses on near-field resonant inductive coupling WPT system. By using Ansys simulator, investigates the various methods of increasing the coupling coefficient of the coil. Besides that, the combination of these methods on the performance and efficiency of the resonant inductive coupling WPT system. Lastly, the investigation of resonant frequency and transmission distance in the WPT system. For future research study, inductive coupling WPT should focus on the coil design for achieving longer transmission range and higher coupling coefficient. Besides that, a focus on improving the performance of inductive coupling WPT at constant transmission range instead of dynamic transmission distance.
