Abstract
The stability of a power transmission system is always the topic to be discussed. Any uncertainty in fluctuation in the power supply is always the main concern where this phenomenon could cause many problems in the industries, homes and offices. Overvoltage and undervoltage are always related to quality control and voltage fluctuation. The causes for these phenomenon are due to voltage surges, limiting, overload and so on. The effects of overvoltage and undervoltage can be serious and cause insulation failure in case of overvoltage and overheating of motors coils in case of undervoltage. The aim and the purpose served in this project is to solve the tripping mechanism in power supply system by improving the efficiency of the overvoltage and undervoltage protection system in single phase supply. In order to achieve the aims, a classification on power quality disturbance based on CAD tools is carried out. Wavelet transform to classify the power quality disturbance and Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy system is used to detection for the power quality disturbance. Then by using the obtained results, a set of result data will feed in to the protection system and analysis on the detection efficiency has been carried out. A detection system for power quality signal was built up by the application of ANFIS. The error of percentage in detection is listed and tabulated in this research paper.
