Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of 6 weeks resistance band training on upper body speed, strength ratio, power and dynamic balance among co-curriculum male volleyball players. A total of 22 subjects (Age = 21.45±1.50 years old; Weight =66.31±12.18 kg and Height = 1.73±0.55 m) participated in this study. The subjects were divided into two group (control group N=11, experimental group N=11). The experimental group consisted of 3 days per week training for a 6 weeks resistance band training programme with 1 hour for each session. The control group did not have participated in the 6 weeks resistance band training programme. The subjects were tested by using plate tapping test (r= .929), push-up test (r= .93), modified pull-up test (r= .901), SMBT test (r = .963) and modified SEBT with Cronbach’ Alpha (r= .962). The data analysis showed that there was significant difference between two groups in upper limb speed, push/pull strength and dynamic balance while there was no significant difference in power. The finding of the study showed evidence 6-week of resistance band training that improve the most in upper limb speed, push/pull strength and dynamic balance test in co-curriculum volleyball players.
