Abstract

This research is purposely to investigate the gender stereotype in the entertainment reality games show and the perception of the audiences. There are actually a lot of scholar had studied towards the gender stereotype in reality show with well documented evidences or statistics. However, how people think towards gender stereotype in a reality game show remains unclear. Moreover, this research tends to found out how are the perceptions of audiences while watching Keep Running reality show towards gender stereotype perceptions. The research examined towards respondents who had watched Keep Running reality game show as Keep Running had presented gender stereotype issues to identify their perceptions towards gender stereotype. The findings showed that reality game show need to beware on the gender stereotype issues as it had gained a higher popularity nowadays. This research was examined by using Social Roles Theory and Cultivation Theory. All in all, although the Cultivation is failed to apply in this research however Social Roles Theory had found that the gender stereotype still grooming among the society as well media especially reality game show was failed to realize the society about gender stereotype issues.
