Abstract

Public relations nowadays still do not have a clearer image from the view of public or organisation as it does not have specific job scope yet function from the understanding of audiences. Public relations are also being used by the service industry for multi- functions such as integrated marketing communication or publicity tools that are commonly used and this causes the main and true function nor impact of public relations not being able to extend or bring out properly. This research is to provide more in-depth understanding and knowledge on the public relations’s roles and influences to organisational usefulness or effectiveness yet explaining the public relations relationship and the effect or impact at the difference of hierarchy in the service industry. Hence, this research will heavily focus on how public relations roles impact the organizational effectiveness via job scope, functions and decision making involvement. The research outcomes and findings revealed a significant relationship between the roles of public relations and its function with the organisational effectiveness yet the level of roles and functions impact the organizational effectiveness differently. The research RQs have proven through data collection and analysis from interview sessions with the public relations practitioners yet the outcomes align with public relations scholar’s research.
