Abstract

Since early 1960, the first IBS project is launched which was known as Pekeliling Flat in Kuala Lumpur with the low cost. However, the implementation of Industrialized Building System (IBS) is still consider low in Malaysia Construction Industry especially for the private sector. This is mainly due to the high initial cost of the IBS which cause many of private sector more prefer using conventional method in the construction project. Therefore, the main purpose of this research study is to determine the current issues of IBS, the benefits of implementing IBS and follow by indicating the solutions to decrease the cost of implementing IBS in order to encourage more of the private sector involved in using this IBS.
