Abstract

The construction industry Malaysia is the important part of the economy. Due to the it is a big of the project, cost and time management, the nature of the construction industry has changed very fast in recent years. In addition, it also has the advantage of traditional procurement methods, including quality of work controlled by the developer, and the developer can make more better control in construction projects. Literature review also includes the challenges of traditional procurement methods, that is, it takes time to complete, difficult to coordinate with every consultants, and unable to communicate with the consultants. In addition, in order to get the purpose of procument and purpose of the research, field surveys are do some thing such as questionnaires. The survey is also targeted at government party, developer, and consultant team and committee of construction sector. The results show that among other factors in the selection of methods, most respondents prefer the work of the cost. Although customers can obtain the best construction prices through competitive bidding, their advantages rank first in the survey. In addition, the results show that the delay of the time required to complete the project is the biggest challenge faced by the contractor. The conclusion shows that the method that bring the much benefit is traditional procument method. Although there have benefit but there are also have challenge. If you can settle the challenge, than will be a helpful method to the consultant.
