Abstract

Smart building technology is a technology that will improve the efficiency and productivity of building as well as it also can reduce the consumption and waste of building. All the technology will improve along with the changes of times so the technology of building should also improve together. The buildings without smart technology will be eliminate in the future. Hence, most of buildings will construct with consist smart building in nowadays. This study will include some topics about the workability, application, benefits and weakness of smart building technology. The purpose for this research is to identify the workability and application of smart building technology as well as determine the benefits and weakness of smart building technology in Malaysia. This research in conducted by using questionnaire research method by asking some experienced construction firm employers. A set of questionnaires that consists of information of respondents, workability, benefits, weakness and application of smart building technology is produced and sent out to different company firm in Kuala Lumpur are and Selangor area by google form. This research will study the understanding of construction firm workers about the smart building technology and the opinion of responders about the smart building technology in Malaysia. This research will help the responders more understand about the smart building technology and encourage them use the smart building technology in their project in future.
