Abstract
Physical activity is known to bring a lot of benefits towards all humankind including normal people, patient and disabled people. But the PA level of disabled people are found to be low and this will lead to secondary health problems. Disabled is a complex and multidimensional experience thus we can’t perceive them as normal or patient. A Theory proposal by Ajzen and Fisbean, (1980) which is the theory of planned behaviour where it able to assess an individual behaviour. The purpose of this study is to examine the factors that influence the intention and physical activity participation among disabled secondary school students, based on the Theory of Planned Behaviour. A total of 81 students, 46 from deaf and 35 from blind, from three schools participated in this study. PASIPD questionnaire was used to identify PA participation and theory of planned behaviour was used to identify the attitude, social norm, PBC and intention. The results show that in the group of 81 subjects, PBC have significant effect (p<0.05) towards intention and intention have significant effect (p<0.05) towards PA participation. As for deaf group, it was reported that PBC have significant effect towards intention but in blind group it was found social norm, PBC has significant effect towards intention and intention have significant effect towards PA participation. In conclusion, PBC have the highest variance and significant effect towards intention.
