Abstract

Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (‘TAR UC’), formerly known as Tunku Abdul Rahman College (‘TAR College’), is a premier institution of higher learning in Malaysia set up in 1969 by the Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) to provide quality and affordable tertiary education to Malaysians. With the car's population in the TARUC campus, the parking slot is not enough to fit this large amount of car. Why we need to create this system it's because the college parking have limited slot, with this problem student who have car always faced fully occupied parking slot, unwanted parking slot, late for class, being forced for invalid double parking. With carpooling system, it can reduce the problem facing by the student as I mentioned earlier. In this project, we’ve decided to create several function in different areas which is driver side, passenger side, server side and web-based. The function, module and sub-system will be stated in chapter 1 and 2. We’ve used several software to complete our project which are Android Studio, Visual Studio, Microsoft Azure, MSSQL, and CloudMQTT. For Car Pooling project. We’d finished the final testing at 11 November 2017 at Tunku Abdul Rahman University College block B227. In the final testing, we run though a complete whole system to demonstrate to the supervisor and advisor to get the feedback. The outcome of the carpooling project is less than what we expected in early stage. The strength of this project is all the functionality proposed, and the weakness is user interface. In a nutshell, I believe functionality is much more important than user interface which can bring the project to another level.
