Abstract
As the technology is getting advanced in these days, construction industry has started to implement the Building Information Modeling (BIM) system. Not only Architect and Engineer has start adopting the BIM software, as well as Quantity Surveyor. BIM software has been used in performing the task in quantity surveying practice. The risen of BIM system software has bring up the fear to Quantity Surveyor which maybe change the job scope, style and responsibilities of them and if it continues getting more and more advance, it might change working style of traditional Quantity Surveyor in the future. The risen of BIM system software has bring up the impacts to Quantity Surveyors. BIM is able to assist the Quantity Surveyor to handle working task such as quantity taking off, cost control, preparation of bill of quantity and updating cost or quantity data. Besides that, it also contributes major strength to the quantity surveyor with the adoption of BIM. This research highlight the implementation of BIM software in Quantity Surveying Practice, effect of BIM in Quantity Surveying Practice and Barriers or challenge faced in the adoption of BIM in Quantity Surveying Practice. All these issue will be part of the finding in this research. Questionnaire survey will be conducted to collect the response from the Quantity Surveyor Firm in Kuala Lumpur in order to achieve the objectives
