Abstract

Noise pollution is the problem arising in the construction industry nowadays. However, no much attention was given to this issue as the problems arising regarding noise pollution caused by construction activities cannot be easily resolved as the supply of new property continues to increase especially in urban area to meet the demand of consumers. The objectives of this research was to study and to determine the causes and effects of noise pollution caused by construction activities. This research also to propose the example of solutions in minimizing the effects of noise pollution caused by construction activities. The literature review discussed about the causes, impact and example solutions in minimizing noise pollution issue in Malaysia. Questionnaire is distributed to collect data from targeted respondents which are public and people working in construction industry within Klang Valley area. There are five (5) sections in the questionnaire which are Part A, B, C, D, and E. 100 sets of questionnaires were distributed out and only 80 respondents gave feedback. This study found that construction industry as well as the local authorities play an important roles in minimizing noise pollution caused by construction activities.
