Abstract

Industrialised Building System (IBS) have been strongly encouraged and promoted to utilise in the construction sector in Malaysia in order to improve the overall quality and efficiency in the construction industry. The IBS application enable to bring numerous of advantages to the construction project. However, IBS is not widely adopted in Malaysia due to several setbacks and challenges when implementing the IBS. So, the aim of this study is to identify the area of improving the IBS implementation. In this research, the advantages and challenges of implementing IBS and the strategies for improving the IBS implementation are determined as well. Eight advantages, ten challenges and ten strategies in the terms of IBS implementation were included in the questionnaire survey in order for the respondents to rank their level of importance. 50 respondents from the construction industry such as Architect, QS, Engineer, Contractor and Project Manager were chosen in participating the questionnaire survey.
