Abstract
The aim for this study was to determine the effect of tabata training programme on muscular endurance, body fat percentage and cardiovascular endurance in active individual college students. A total of 19 students took part in this study and were divided intro control group (n= 10) and experimental group (n= 9) using systematic counter balancing method and fish bowl method. Experimental group went through 6 weeks of tabata training and control group have no intervention but is able to participate in their daily sport activities. Prior to training, both groups undergoes pre-test which consist of inbody test for fat percentage, 30 s sit up test & repetitive squat test for muscular endurance test and bleep test for cardiovascular endurance test. These test were also sued to determine the post-test after 6 weeks. Data analysis showed that there were significant improvement on muscular endurance (p= 0.01 on 30 s sit up test & p= 0.00 on repetitive squat test). However in the control group shows significance difference as well on the bleep test (p= 0.49) and repetitive squat test (p=0.14). The study concluded that tabata training is effective on improving the cardiovascular endurance and muscular endurance in active college male students.
