Abstract

In the current era there are more and more catering service platform emerging in the market. Nowadays the trend of catering service platform is emerging, with coordination of this trend a catering service system was included as part for the smart campus project in order to serve the university college community better by providing a gateway to connect the caterers for any occasion that required catering service. At the same time, assist the caterers penetrate into an extra market. The project is an enhancement based on its previous phase, and customer side and the caterer side will be separated. For this particular project the enhancement scope mainly focusses on provide order scheduling, promotion management and feedback awareness for the caterers on top of some improvements based on existing functions. The methodology utilize for this project will be incremental approach with each main module will be developed and prior tested increment by increment. The platform of the catering service system will be Android based and with the implementation of the MQTT protocol for communication. Once the development process had been completed, a series of testing would need to be conducted in order to proven the quality of the system. These tests would include unit testing to ensure the functionality of a segment for the module, integration testing to test the ability of the system to run as a whole, user acceptance testing to make sure that the outcome does fulfill the expectations of the potential users. With this enhance catering service system, situations of manual order handing for the caterers would be a thing of the part besides more versatile and accurate promotion can be provided by the caterers. On top of that, with this hassle-free catering platform more and more caterers will got on-board providing more choice for the community.
