Abstract
The objective of this study is to investigate the exercise behavior changes among Tunku Abdul Rahman University College students during the COVID-19 pandemic period a in relation to their self-efficacy, decisional balance and process of change across different stages of change. This is non-experimental study using a cross-sectional design to investigate the exercise behavior changes among Tunku Abdul Rahman University College, Kuala Lumpur. Questionnaires were used as means of collecting data. The samples were the students which study in TARUC KL main campus. An online survey link was generated and was broadcasted through Communication and Information Technology Centre of TARUC to the emails of the KL Campus students, through social media and private invitations. The questionnaires used in this study consist of 6 sections, with each section measuring variables related to the objective of study. This questionnaire adapted from Kee (2013), measured the variables of interest to this research and each item is on a 5-point Likert scale ranging from 1 to 5. Some of the questions in the questionnaire were modified for this study so that they are relevant to this study. The set of questionnaires comprised of items to measure variables related to leisure time exercise, stages of exercise change, self-efficacy, decisional balance and process of change. The findings indicated that during MCO period, the students were become physically inactive and the amounts of student in action/maintenance stage were reduced as the amounts of the student in pre-contemplation/contemplation stage were increased. Besides that, there are no significant difference in the self-efficacy, decisional balance pros, behavioral process across the stage of change whereas there are no significant differences in decisional balance cons and cognitive process across the stage of change.
