Abstract

The 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) epidemic is a global health threat and is by far the largest outbreak of atypical pneumonia. The mental health, sleep quality and physical activity level play an important role in college students in both mentally and physically aspect since all the private and government college activated the e-learning mode for classes and postponed out-of-campus activities. Thus, the purpose of this study was to investigate the higher education institution students’ mental health, sleep quality and physical activity Level during COVID-19 epidemic in Malaysia. Participants n=191 (87 males, 104 females). Comparison of Mental health (Anxiety) between genders was found to be significant at p= 0.035*. Comparison of Mental Health (Stress) between genders was significant at p= 0.50*. Comparison of Physical Activity Level between genders was found to be significant at p=0.002*. Correlation analyses revealed that Sleep Quality were associated with Mental Health. This study found out that Mental Health (Anxiety), Mental Health (Stress) and Physical Activity Level was affected by genders while Sleep Quality and Mental Health was correlated positively.
