Abstract
Today, there is an expansion in women working outside their home to support themselves monetarily and socially, however the working encounters can be tricky for women when gender segregation exists in the work environment. In the mid-1960s, women were entering the public relations industry at a rate quicker than their male partners, however gender predisposition was a sore issue in the industry. Gender and power shape the act of public relations. Gender adds to power contrasts which may, thusly, impact a person's strategic decisions and communication styles. Since male and female public relations practitioners make importance of their parts as public relations practitioners in an unexpected way, taking a gender from the perspective of women and men gives remarkable understanding into these distinctions. The motivation behind this thesis study was to see how gender has affected the power dissemination of women and men in public relations and convey effect to job satisfaction. Information were gathered through in-depth interview with 8 public relations practitioners by 4 women and 4 men respectively. Women and men working in different positions in the public relations field are examined into subjects. The discoveries exposed two major topics identified with the job satisfaction of these women and men public relations practitioners: (a) gender, and (b) power. Liberal Feminist Theory filled in as a theoretical framework for this research.
