Abstract

In recent year, housing projects have been launched and propel a high demand of quality in local construction industry. The home buyers expect that have a good workmanship of house. And this phenomenon has encouraged the developers and contractor firm of adopting the quality standard which to help in maintaining the good quality in their construction projects. In Malaysia, Quality Assessment System in Construction (QLASSIC) is one of the quality standard used by the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) whereas in Singapore, Construction Quality Assessement System (CONQUAS) was adopted by Building and Construction Authority (BCA). Moreover, construction industry transformation programme (CITP) has proposed the improvement of quality standards by increasing implementation of quality assessments such as QLASSIC. because this system is very beneficial to all parties involved as it enables a developer to earn the public’s trust. It can also keep the developers build according the culture of ‘Do Things Right the First Time and Every Time’ (Rosli 2017). Furthermore, 100sets of questionnaire has been prepared for obtain the data but only 80 sets of questionnaire has been collected from the house owner who stayed in building certified with QLASSIC. The target building was located at KL area. In addition, to meet the objective of comparison between the two housing scheme, there were also 80 sets of questionnaire has been collected from another student who doing the similar research title but different assessment system. After data collected would be analysed by using the method of frequency distribution method, multiple response analyse method and independent-samples t test method. In conclusion, future research suggested is to compare the housing schemes which certified with QLASSIC, one with higher QLASSIC score and one with lower.
