Abstract

Purpose: This paper is to identify the determinants of the return on transportation and logistics industry by using financial ratios. It is also important to justify the application of the Pareto principle in the transportation and logistics industry. Design/ Methodology/ Approach: This paper designed to have two models which are model one and model two. Two different models are able to meet two different objectives in the paper. Model one is run based on the assumption of all of the independents variables are significant relationship with the dependents variable. While model two is assuming that all of the independents variables are significant relationship with the dependents variable based on Pareto Chart. Findings: The results for significant variables are similar whereby Total Assets Turnover and Earning Per Share is positively related to stock return for model one. From the results of Ordinary Least Square in model two, all of the variables are insignificant based on Pareto Chart.
