Abstract
This research addresses the study of the relationship between new media and tourism industry in Malaysia. Through the development of digital age and the attachment of almost every people will use new media daily, the researcher assumes it will be the potential platform to promote the online market for tourism. Other than that, the outbreak of Covid-19 in 2020 has totally influenced the tourism market in Malaysia not to mention that Malaysia is a country that relies much on tourism. The main focus of this study has included the academic problems of how entrepreneurs promote their domestic tourism business by using social media , how does the trend of posting on social media affect the future advertising and the reality problem such as how the Covid-19 issue affects Malaysia tourism industry . In addition, the thesis will collect one hundred packs of the public opinion and the subject is people who age between 18 years old to 33 years old. Then, at the interview part will have a total of 7 interviewees who have different positions from various industries and regions for further studies. Based on the results of the survey and interviews, the researcher observes there are a lot of netizens who keep sharing the thoughts of wanting to travel. Especially during and after the outbreak of pandemic which blow the tourism business of Malaysia. Therefore, the relationship between new media and tourism would be positive for the research.
