Abstract

This topic is regarding to Construction and Demolition (C&D) waste management in Malaysia. The C&D waste generate at site more and more from year to year. The reality that cannot be deny, the construction work always accompanied by the construction or demolition waste. Even there have many construction has implement the C&D waste management at the site, but it still does not effective to minimise the amount of construction waste. This research is aim to investigate the insufficient of the Construction and Demolition (C&D) waste management and identify the best solution to improving C&D waste management in Malaysia. This study concern on contractor behavior in implement C&D waste management, the critical barrier and the most effective strategy to improve the C&D waste management. Hence, this study will distribute to Chapter 1 (Introduction), Chapter 2 (Literature Review), Chapter 3 (Methodology), Chapter 4 (Data Analysis) and Chapter 5 (Conclusion and Recommendations). Questionnaire with convenient sampling type will be used to measure the objectives. Software Package for Social Science (SPSS) will assist in analysing all gathered data from the questionnaires. Method used to calculate the result for the questionnaires will be descriptive statistics, frequencies and percentages of analysed data. There was find out the result of contractor always keep the surplus material for future project. Again, the lack of economic incentive was find out as the critical barrier when implement C&D waste management. The strategy of improve the effectiveness of C&D waste management regulation was identified as the most effective manner to improve the C&D waste management.
