Abstract
This paper presents the simulation of power grid connect to energy Storage System and further achieve optimal Peak Shaving using Energy Storage System projects. This projects concern on the identification of the peak power interval to be shaved, time of charging and discharging of Battery Energy Storage System and amount of power shaved. Based on a set of realistic demand data, reduce of the peak load while still maintain the user comfort is achievable. The objectives of the project is to do the simulation on the grid of the user, to integrate Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) into the Grid and also to reduce the peak power using the Battery Energy Storage System of the simulated grid. To achieve such objective, the Energy storage system is charged during valley demand and discharge during peak demand. Further demand smoothening requires a higher battery storage system capacity. Finally, this paper also provides a simulation results of peak shaving using Battery storage system.
