Abstract
Since Malaysia’s goal is to become a developed country, the construction industry is considered to be the main catalyst for the country to achieve this status. It is one of the sectors that cause most environmental pollution. Therefore, it is very important for the industry to implement sustainable construction to reduce its negative impact on the environment. However, most Malaysian developers pay great attention to market demand and economic factors, and ignore their attention to environmental issues. Due to high operating costs, sustainable construction practices are considered an obstacle to achieving short-term economic goals. Therefore, when weighing long-term environmental benefits and immediate economic factors, a choice must be made and a balance must be struck. The research is aim to explores the implementation of sustainable construction in Malaysian construction industry.
