Abstract

Construction industry plays an important role in Malaysia in increase the economic to our country. Therefore, green procurement will be a better choice to make the construction industry reach a higher achievement and improve the image of construction industry, quality and production. The risk and health of workers and public will be taken care well and in ultimately to reduce waste create and reduce the construction cost and maintenance cost in future. The objective of this research is to let the industry know the advantages and weakness to implement Green Procurement in Malaysia Construction Industry, the barrier of implementation of green procurement in Malaysia construction industry, the ways to promote green procurement in Malaysia construction industry. The aim for this research is to show how the new procurement can benefits the construction industry and also to the environment and make it as one of the best choice of procurement. Questionnaire survey will be conduct to achieve the aims and objectives. The targeted respondent for the questionnaire would be architect, engineer, quantity surveyor, developer and supplier. The questionnaire will be conducted through google form and send to the targeted respondent. After collected the data then will analysis the data through descriptive method and relative information index (RII). This is a simple method of analysis which shows the general overview of the results. Some of the question will be analyse using percentage and presented into pie chart. The relative importance index has been chosen to analysis the data collected. This method will be use to analyse the data for Section B to Section D. In conclusion, to make this research become a choice for the industry, all related personal would need to play their role and to promote the procurement to the industry and public.
