Abstract

Quality Assessment System in Construction (QLASSIC) had first introduced by Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) in year 2006 in Malaysia which aims to assess objectively the level of workmanship quality of the building construction work. The quality of workmanship of a building construction project will be evaluated and scored based on the Construction Industry Standard (CIS) 7:2014 standard. Nevertheless, poor quality workmanship of building construction and causes the occurrence of defects become a phenomenon in Malaysia’s construction industry. Therefore, the implementation of QLASSIC should be compulsory in Malaysia in order to achieve a good workmanship quality and produce a high-quality of building. This research is aims to motivate the implementation of QLASSIC in Malaysia by identifying the perception of property developers. The methodology used are literature review and the questionnaires. The primary data collection would be carried out by using the method of distributing the questionnaire survey to the targeted respondents. The tools of analysing the data collected would be descriptive statistics method likes descriptive analysis and frequency analysis as well as the multiple response analysis method which will be conducted via Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS). At the end of this research, the perception by property developers towards the compulsory of implementation of QLASSIC will be established.
