Abstract

Nowadays, construction sector is expanding dramatically and the site supervisor is a role who cannot be neglected. However, most of the people may not look into the role of construction site supervisor and may think that it is not essential. Therefore, in this study will discuss on the importance of the construction site supervisor, factor of poor supervision, impact of poor supervision and strategy to overcome the problems. The questionnaire survey was distributed to 78 respondents who are experience in the construction site and the data was analysed by using the Microsoft Excel. The results show that the primary importance of construction site supervisor is to ensure the safety on site, whereas to impact of poor supervisor is the time and cost overrun. The factor of poor supervisor was also been analysed which is lack of communication with parties for example the site worker, contractor, sub-contractor and person who work with them. Therefore, creating a flow of communication was the strategy chosen the most by the respondents.
