The proposed proposal aims to present a modeling and measurement procedure method which is to obtain the parameters required to produce desired output of a controlled variable transformer in its simplest form that can be implemented in various applications. The research was carried out on single-phase model shell type transformer, from its basics to implementation. The consideration of the selection of component for the building of hardware of the project is discussed. A software program using MATLAB/Simulink® will be developed in the further execution of the project after proper investigations have been done. The program will be the tool that enables fast and accurate calculation of the transformer electrical specs and design in order to achieve the optimum performance for required application. This proposal generalized about the comparison of existing method and proposed a possible manner that is to be used in the project. The transformer is to be connected to variable number of windings of conductor coils at the secondary and the investigation is to be done on various resistive loads, to obtain an output current ranging from 0A to 5A. Hence the main control of the system is the number of windings of the secondary coil, with a fixed input source of 240Vrms, 50Hz. The system simulated in this project was able to give the percentage voltage regulations of the transformer in 67.74%, 27.66% and 15.62% respectively, with 3 values of Rload applied to the system to observe the difference between them.
