Abstract

Construction industry has high fatalities rate as compared to other industries due to its exclusive nature at working site. Lack of safety consciousness among construction workers has further increased the workplace hazards in construction site. The annual rate of construction site accidents is increasing. Bad or negative behaviour is the main factor that affect the occurrence of work accidents compared to other factors. Responsibilities of the construction worker is significant in taking appropriate action in making safety improvement. This research studies will be carried out to identify the critical factors contributes to low safety consciousness among construction workers and recommend ways can be taken to raise the safety consciousness among construction workers. The methodologies that will be applied for this research is starting with literature review to identify the factors contributes to low safety awareness among construction workers and identify strategies to raise up the safety awareness among construction workers based on previous researches. This is followed by distributions of questionnaire forms towards G4 to G7 contractors. The data were then analysed using Inferential analysis and Descriptive analysis. After that, the last chapter is talked about the recap of study and expected findings and contribution. Furthermore, the hypothesis has discussed according to the questions to accomplish the purpose of this research. For this chapter, project plan from above has described the list of activities that require to execute in Project and Dissertation II.
